Offroading in Ocala

During my time here in Florida so far, one of the places I have enjoyed getting out and exploring is Ocala National Forest. Located just outside of Orlando, this forest is a great outdoor getaway.

Want to get lost? Hop in your Jeep and check out 80 miles of OHV trails throughout the National Forest. Here you can hike, Jeep, or even go horseback riding. Other recreational activities include hunting, fishing, canoeing, camping and more.

If you're looking for a place to cool off, you're in luck! Ocala has over 600 lakes, rivers and streams, making it a great place to go snorkeling or enjoy paddleboarding down the crystal-clear waterways. If you want to stay the night, camping is also available. But no matter how long you stay, you'll have a blast.

Ocala National Forest protects the world's largest contiguous sand pine scrub forest. Many areas of the forest are off limits to human contact as to protect the wildlife and plants. Please remember to respect Mother Earth and stay on the designated trails. That being said, there are countless roads to drive down and enjoy the incredible scenery responsibly.

The world has been a completely different place as of the beginning of 2020, with many areas experiencing travel bans. If you are planning an upcoming trip here, make sure that the campground, trails, and surrounding stores will be open. Thanks for checking out my blog! If you want more travel tips or information, please feel free to contact me. As always, stay safe everyone 💙
