Visiting Devils Tower!

I’ve crossed another amazing place off my bucket list - Devils Tower! This amazing Wyoming attraction is quite literally hard to miss.

This impressive butte towers over the Black Hills at over 5,000 feet in elevation. Devils Tower was coined from a bad translation, but the name has stuck. This sacred place is known as Bear Lodge to the Lakota Tribe.

Devils Tower was made the nation’s first national monument by president Theodore Roosevelt back in 1906. This amazing attraction hosts more than half a million visitors every year.

Depending on when you visit, you will see all kinds of wildlife roaming around. Keep an eye out for bald eagles, bison, and bighorn sheep. When you first enter the park, make sure you stop at Prairie Dog Town. We had so much fun watching the prairie dogs play in the snow!

If you plan to go in the winter, make sure you plan accordingly as A LOT of the local businesses and hotels are shut down during the winter season.
